The Reasons Why Windows 7 Hangs on Shutdown

Windows 7 is one of the latest operating system offered by information technology (IT) giant Microsoft Corp. This was release last October 22, 2009 -- three years after the Windows Vista operating system was introduced to the market.

Although the Windows 7 operating system is equipped with updated and additional features, this does not exclude itself from errors. Most of PC users have problems in using this Microsoft operating system because this causes troubles when one wishes to turn off his or her computer. In other words, Windows 7 hangs on shut downs.

The Causes Why Windows 7 Errors on Shut Downs

Multiple Core Processors. PC users can encounter errors during shut downs on their Windows 7-installed computers because of multiple processors. In simple terms, Windows 7 operating system becomes erroneous if there the processor installed on the PC has multiple cores.

Defective hardware or devices installed on the PC. Sometimes, a device can hang up and will affect how the Windows 7 program performs during shut downs.

There is a damaged device driver on the system. If you have a damaged driver, there is a great tendency that you are going to experience hang ups and freezes.

There are viruses, bugs, worms, spywares, or malwares living on the computer system.  Viruses are the main suspects of every PC errors. Every IT specialist, technicians, and system analyst do not fail to include virus as one of the factors that can cause particular PC error. Viruses have the capacity to copy other system files and disguise themselves to remain undetected. If viruses remain undetected, these malicious programs can really destroy the entirety of your computer system. PC users must be observant in killing viruses because these can erase your files without you knowing. I don’t think you will be happy if your precious photos, videos, and other documents will be gone in a second.

There are lots of applications working on the background. When a PC has lots of software installed on the system and that these applications always run in the background even if not being used by the user, there is a big potential that computers will take longer to shut down.

The PC user fail to close currently used applications. If a PC user neglects to close the software he or she had used and turns his or her computer off, Windows will run slow because it had to close the applications first.

There is something wrong with the systems registry. Registry is a database developed by Microsoft Corp. to store data about the configuration and settings of every application and devices installed on the PC.  If there are invalid registries, your PC will really degrade the performance of one’s computer.
